In October 2021, it became possible for all Instagram users to add links to their stories. The well-known ”sweep up” feature was replaced by a link sticker that is available to everyone. However, this feature did not receive as positive a response as Instagram had initially hoped for. It went very much against the creative angle that Instagram stands for, as it was not possible to change either color or text on the sticker. But this has now been fixed! An update on Instagram at the end of 2021 has been that we can all change the way our link stickers look. You can now both choose between different layouts in the form of colors and change the text in your link.
How to change the text on your link sticker
- Choose the right sticker
- Enter your URL
- Click ”Customize Sticker Text”
- Write the desired text
To change the color of your sticker, just tap it once you have placed it. You are offered several different layouts on the sticker as you know it from the other classics such as ‘Hashtag’, ‘Location’ and ‘Mention’. In this way, you can more easily make the new function fit your own aesthetics. However, there are still a limited number of colors to choose from, but it allows you to make the sticker stand out in the story.
