Facebook launches a new Shop tab in their app

Finally, Facebook is getting more serious regarding shopping on their platform. Which we of course are at Iternum Digital, as well.

At Iternum Digital, we have been waiting a long time for Mark Zuckerberg to make it possible to shop via Facebook.

Facebook already has millions of shopping feeds that e-commerce shops around the world have uploaded to Facebook for the purpose of targeting ads to people who have already visited a website, even with products they have already looked at. So one may wonder why shopping only now is becoming a direct part of the platform.

Earlier this summer, Facebook launched their first initiative in terms of making shopping an integral part of the platform, Facebook stores. With Facebook stores, it is possible for companies to set up an online store that targets mobile purchases, directly on Facebook and Instagram. That feature make Facebook even more serious by adding a Shop tab to the app.

See here where you find Facebook-stores in your Facebook app:

Several actions across their apps

Facebook businesses are far from the only initiative from Facebook in terms of inspiring users to buy and sell online across their apps.

In addition to Facebook stores, Facebook across their apps has also invested in initiatives such as Instagram stores, live shopping features, which allow you to display clickable products at the bottom of your video when you are live, as well as the ability to connect Facebook profiles with loyalty programs .

At Iternum Digital, we keep a close eye on all the new shopping opportunities that are added across Facebook’s platforms, so we are constantly updated and ready to help you.

Facebook is not the only place where you can take advantage of your shopping feed

Today, it seems as if there is a race to get companies’ shopping feed on the various digital marketing platforms.

Pinterest is a relatively new platform that has joined the battle for the digital marketing budget. On Pinterest, as something relatively new, you can upload your shopping feed and have your ads displayed directly on the platform.

In addition, Amazon is heading into the Nordic region – initially in Sweden. Here as well, there is a need for a corporate shopping feed to optimize advertising internally on the platform.

But with all these new opportunities, which platform is most important to your business? Which strategy should you use? And where can you achieve the most revenue vs. profit?

If you want more information regarding the above, you are welcome to write to us. Together we will develop the shopping feed strategy that suits your business model and especially your business goals.
